Are you interested in organizing, and want to learn how a festival operates behind the scenes? To take over responsibility and get a first hand access to the world of open science, arts and films? To meet international scientists, artists, and like-minded people and work together with a professional, creative and supportive team?

Perfect! This can be your STATE Festival! From Nov 3–5, 2016, STATE Festival will take over Berlin with its second edition „STATE OF EMOTION - The Sentimental Machine“, focussing on groundbreaking discoveries at the intersection of emotions research and Artificial Intelligence. For our festival, we are looking for passionate volunteers to support us from Nov 2–6, 2016, in a variety of areas, including media and guest accreditation, bar, load in/load out – venue setup, exhibition mediator, VIP liaison, stage management, workshop assistance, or welcome guests...

Here’s an opportunity to play your part in the festival and bring in your own ideas! If you’re already following us on social media, come and help us make STATE of Emotion – The Sentimental Machine a memorable experience for the science and art communities?

Important dates:

  • 18.10.2016 – info-meeting for volunteers @Prinzenstraße 103 (7pm, not required)
  • 01.11.2016 – volunteer prep meeting @Prinzenstraße 103
    (7pm, required)

  • At least 2 full days of your time during the Main Event
  • Interest and passion to create new ways of bringing science to the public
  • Commitment, a smile and a „getting things done“-attitude
  • If you have a previous experience in one of the above areas and/or science (especially related to emotions research), we are especially excited about hearing from you.  However, first-timers are also very welcome!

What´s in it for you?

  • an all-area festival pass
  • catering during work shifts
  • collect experience in event organization
  • receive a certificate for your work
