Hypertopia Field Exploration with Daisy Ginsberg:
How to get to STATION I
The first location you will visit is a place where history was written through chemistry. Here are the former laboratories of a pioneer of synthetic biology who was active in Berlin in the early twentieth century. If you’re unsure who that pioneer may be: he was the first to explore the scientific potential of Phenylhydrazine.
Enter the gate and walk around. Can you find the back yard of the campus? Look for the small garden: there is the wild rhubarb and other helpful species. Here you will have to find the (non-genomic) code. From here you will follow the trail of the visions of early synthetic biology, which leads you to their lost worlds of knowledge and experimentation.
Find your destination and walk through the gate and look around. You will find the code where the wild rhubarb grows.
