Laura studied Psychology, Communication Studies and Political Science at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, the Freie Universität in Berlin and the University of California, Berkeley. She acquired field experience in sustainable development through a project in Nicaragua (Foundacion Fenix) sponsored by the Food and Agriculture Organisation of United Nations (FAO).
