Sat. 05.11, 10:30-12:00
Location: Floor 0

As social neuroscientist/psychologist, Sebastian Korb is particularly interested in understanding how proprioceptive information about our own body is generated and how it contributes to the processing, recognition, and awareness of emotions in others.

When focusing on the face, this line of research requires understanding of the psychological processes and neural substrates underlying the perception and production of facial expressions, as well as visuo-proprioceptive multisensory integration. Other topics that capture his interest include emotion regulation, joint attention, empathy, autism, and most recently the neural bases of primary and social reward processing.

In his research, Sebastian Korb uses different techniques including electromyography (EMG), electroencephalography (EEG), functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI), transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), and psychopharmacology.

He is currently a postdoc in the Psychology department at the University of Vienna.
