Imagine Science Films
Imagine Science Films is committed, since 2008, to promoting a high-level dialogue between scientists and filmmakers. Through annual science film festivals in New York and Abu Dhabi, as well as at satellite events worldwide, ISF serves as a major venue for the release of new and experimental works bridging the worlds of science and film. ISF seeks to challenge and expand the role of science in the current cultural discourse by providing a forum for adventurous interdisciplinary collaboration.
In 2019, its 11th edition, Imagine Science Films Festival treats the topic of Survival, looking at the high stakes for all life on Earth and beyond. Between nuclear proliferation, species loss and dwindling resources, existence itself is not assured. But for every dystopia, a corresponding utopia may be within reach. It may be a struggle, but the record of all life is that of an eon-spanning fight to stay alive. We'll feature tumultuous natural history and startling feats of adaptation. Apoptosis versus immortal cell lines. Half-lives and radical life extension. The deaths of stars and extraordinary paths to SURVIVAL.
