Nathan Kensinger is a documentary filmmaker, photographer and artist currently based in Brooklyn, New York. His documentary work focuses on hidden urban landscapes, environmental disaster areas, and coastal communities affected by sea-level rise. He has been documenting the coastline of New York City for a decade. His photographs depicting the aftermath of Storm Sandy were exhibited at the Museum of the City of New York and included in the Nature Climate Change Report "Managed Retreat as a response to natural hazard risk" by Hino, Field & Mach (2017). Kensinger's versatile work includes photography, film, installation, curation and writing. After his contribution as program director of the Brooklyn Film Festival, he has been curating Chance Ecologies, a project for artistic and scientific work on ecosystem exploration, since 2015.
