Liila Taruffi is an interdisciplinary music researcher, who works at the intersection of psychology, neuroscience, and aesthetics. She has recently submitted her PhD thesis in Psychology of Music at the Cluster “Languages of Emotion” of the Free University in Berlin. For her doctoral thesis, she examined the emotional and cognitive experiences evoked by sad music using a combination of behavioural and neuroimaging methods. In addition to her doctorate, Liila holds BA and MA in Philosophy from the University of Florence, and an MSc in Music, Mind & Brain from Goldsmiths, University of London.
