Simo Vassinen
Writer, Dancer, Performance Artist
Simo Vassinen is a writer, researcher, dancer, event producer and performance artist from Finland. He has worked as a lifestyle researcher (think tank Demos Helsinki) and journalist (e.g. Monocle, Helsingin Sanomat), event producer (New York Design Week, Helsinki World Design Capital) and public speaker (e.g. TEDx Brazil).
In the past years, he has focused on dance, and performs actively in Germany (e.g. Ballhaus Ost, Tanztage Berlin, Stadttheater Freiburg). He has also produced various arts and culture events in New York City and Helsinki, hosted radio programs and moderated discussions and workshops.
His solo choreography Om (Mm...) was a top 10 finalist in the Germany's Best Dance Solo competition at Euro Scene, Leipzig (November 2015).
