Paul Hockenos is a Berlin-based writer who has been working in Europe since 1989. His work appears in The Nation, Foreign Policy, Foreign Affairs, New York Times, Chronicle of Higher Education, and elsewhere. He has authored several books on European politics and was Global Editor at Internationale Politik for five years, served in the postwar civilian administrations in the Balkans and was a fellow at the American Academy in Berlin. His lastest book Berlin Calling: A Story of Anarchy, Music, The Wall and the Birth of the New Berlin was published in 2017.
