Marta Gilaberte Basset (Barcelona, 1987) is currently working as a researcher in the field of Quantum Imaging at the Fraunhofer IOF in Jena. After getting her Diploma in Physics, she did a Master in Aerospace Technology and, in parallel, got in touch for first time with the quantum technology world at ICFO (Castelldefels). Worked for 5 years in the laser manufacturer company Monocrom SL developing a laser source for the ExoMars ESA mission, to be launched in July 2020.

Fascinated to see that the strange world of quantum optics is finding its place to help out in everyday life applications, she decided to focus her work on Quantum Imaging. This particular field allows us to capture the image of objects illuminated at spectral ranges that are difficult or even impossible to detect with classical imaging.
