Jennifer Whitney

Gender, Beauty and Technology Researcher

Jennifer Whitney is a Research Fellow at the Digital Cultures Research Centre, University of the West of England. Her work explores the relationship between gender, beauty, and technology.

She has published her writing in Girlhood Studies, has co-edited a collection of essays with Miriam Forman-Brunell entitled Dolls Studies: The Many Meanings of Girls' Toys and Play, and is currently working on her first monograph: Plastic Beauty: Dolls and the Construction of Modern Femininity.
