Self-guided trips in Berlin

Hypertopia is a borderless territory. Hence, the exhibition is accompanied by a decentralized framework program that carries its ideas into the public realm, from the gallery space into open terrain. Times of polycrises call for alternative formats that potentially interconnect the local with the global, the inside with the outside and the now with the tomorrow. Instead of sticking to conventional panels or patterns of thought, the program sends visitors on the road.

We invite you to go on self-guided Field Explorations. We see the artwork in the exhibition space as a starting point for exploring their meaning within the urban space. Together with the artists themselves and other special contributors we developed little tours that you can experience independently by yourself or with a companion. Little hints hidden behind matrix barcodes will guide you along the route. Both Field Trips and Field Explorations are conceptualized for sensorial explorers, curious minds and urban dwellers that embrace the path as the destination; as well as for everyone else who is open to look at our environment from a different perspective. With STATE Studio, all excursions have a common point of departure. From there, all forge their own individual paths. Happy strolling!

Field Explorations

Hypertopia ist ein Ort ohne Grenzen. Der Idee des offenen Territoriums entsprechend trägt ein dezentrales Rahmenprogramm die Themen der Ausstellung in den öffentlichen Raum, von der Galerie ins freie Gelände. Zeiten geprägt von Polykrisen verlangen nach alternativen Formaten, die das Lokale mit dem Globalen, das Innen mit dem Außen und das Heute mit dem Morgen potenziell verbinden. Anstatt in konventionellen Diskussionsrunden oder Denkmustern zu verharren, schickt das partizipative Format BesucherInnen auf die Reise, um von den ausgestellten Kunstwerken ausgehend neue Hinweise und Impulse zu sammeln.

Neben den digitalen Exkursionen laden wir auch zu autarken Field Explorations ein. Hier sehen wir die Kunstwerke im Ausstellungsraum als Ausgangspunkt für die Erkundung ihrer Bedeutung im städtischen Raum. Zusammen mit den KünstlerInnen selbst und anderen Mitwirkenden haben wir kleine Rundgänge entwickelt, die selbstständig oder mit einer Begleitperson erlebt werden kann. Kleine Wegweisungen, die sich hinter QR-Codes verbergen, führen entlang der Route. Sowohl die Field Trips als auch die Field Explorations sind für ‚Curious Minds‘ und ‚Urban Dwellers‘ konzipiert, deren Ziel der Weg ist; aber auch für alle anderen, die offen sind, unsere Umwelt aus einer anderen Perspektive zu betrachten. Mit Hypertopia haben alle Exkursionen einen gemeinsamen Ausgangspunkt. Von dort aus gehen alle ihren individuellen Weg. Happy strolling!
