STATE Studio presents Living Canvas, a project by artist and designer Fara Peluso. Investigating our relationship with other living organisms, Peluso fuses an energy-generating algae biofilm with cutting-edge technology into a wall-mounted installation growing in real-time. Through a participative workshop combining DIY Biology and a speculative design approach, Living Canvas deepens the discourse around the potential of biological processes as tools for a more sustainable future.

The project is realized in cooperation with Solaga and supported by innogy Foundation. Living Canvas is part of Field Experiments - Laboratory for Science, Art and Society, the ongoing exhibition series at STATE Studio.
