SoftMachine / A Natural History of Networks

What: Performance I Online
When: January 29, 7 pm
Where: Instagram Live

“Soft/Machine” is an electrochemical instrument to perform and explore the aesthetic space of raw material processes and imaginary narrations. A liquid metal (galinstan) is deformed and manipulated by a series of electrodes inside a petri dish. Through electrical pulses and signals, manifold structures and patterns form; a material narrative of fluctuation, shape, chaos, formation, reconstruction, reversibility, and temporality. Everything flows, turbulence appears, structures emerge, temporarily retain a form, folds, collapses, and builds up again. Furthermore, “A Natural History of Network” acts as a model for a world in the making with elements of growth, bifurcation, emergency, flow, and decay.

Further reference is provided by a set of scores, that frame the action, adding a few fundamental guidelines for the visitors to carry out.

About women who demand the maximum of liberty, without any ideological superstructure. About love that breathes freely. And about love that dies from all this self-discovery.
