Gestaltungsmaschine Innovation Camp was an interdisciplinary workshop program of the Kompetenzzentrum Kultur- und Kreativwirtschaft des Bundes sponsored by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and STATE Studio. More than 80 invited participants worked out exemplary approaches at 11 workshop stations of innovative initiatives in the border area between culture and AI, which impressively demonstrated the potentials of cultural and creative workers in the AI field.

Fara Peluso and STATE Studio worked with Solaga – a Berlin-based biotech startup which specializes in the development of innovative solutions for air filtrations and regenerative energy production based on algae biofilms. With the help of technical product developer Jaqueline Mülller and the support of the Solaga team, Peluso re-contextualized this innovative biotechnology into a speculative design object.
